Annabelle was a 40-year-old, happily married woman who had been a high achiever throughout her life. However, she noticed she was being overloaded by work. This was unusual as Annabelle had always coped so it created a high level of anxiety for her.

She also learnt strategies that involved changing thought patterns. Annabelle realised in the process how thoughts, feelings and actions were linked. How changing one tended to change the other. This is called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Annabelle became more aware of her tendency to be a high achiever often resulting in driving herself too hard. This awareness helped her know that her life was getting out of balance again. This meant she improved at finding opportunities to bring back balance to her everyday activities.
